Are you real?
Every day we play a multitude of roles - sister, daughter, friend, co-worker, neighbor. In all this, who is the real person? Hardly do we show the real self to most of these people. In fact we do not dare to show our real feelings even to the person we are closest to!
Do you dare to show the real self to yourself?

What is the measure you use to differentiate between the real self and yourself ? It is not the question of how daring we are, it is the question of how persistent we are.
That's interesting Kasthuri. What I was wondering about was regarding the personalities we adopt with different people (guess we both are in different realms!!:)
But your question - True Self or atman is Sat-Chit-Anand (I concur with this definition)
And to realise this self, you need to be both daring and persistent. You should dare to think outside the limits set and be persistent in that quest.

Yes...I agree. Actually, in reality, boldness comes along with persistence, which are both required.
I think most people would not be able to show their true self just bcos most of em are concerned about what others think of them.
A person's true self is revealed by the things he/she does when they are left alone.
The irony is that we are not alone in this free world.

According to me there is only one being that is me all else is my imagination and thought .....and not the other way around...
